This afternoon Slightly Stoopid and Cloud 9 Adventures have announced the second annual installment of Closer To The Sun, a destination festival set to take place at the Now Sapphire Resort in Puerto Morelos, Mexico December 15 -19.

Slightly Stoopid will be joined by SOJA, Iration, Pepper and Ozomatli at the event, who will each play two shows. The headliners will treat attendees to three performances. Special guests G. Love, Don Carlos, Karl Denson and Ian Neville will be featured throughout the event with exclusive sit-ins and collaborations. Main performances will be held on a stage built on the beach, while late night parties will be held in an open-air palapa.

“Closer to the sun is the ultimate pre-holiday get away for fans and the bands. From the beach to the cenotes and ruins, the Mayan Riviera is truly a special place. We wanted to create an intimate vibes holiday adventure for our fans that is different than any other fan experience. The all-inclusive experience goes beyond just music with artist-hosted activities, excursions, beach games and poolside performances in store as well as artist-hosted workshops, activities and contests, autograph sessions and impromptu jam sessions. Once again Closer To The Sun will partner with Positive Legacy to encourage artists and fans to participate in a day of service and cultural connection in the community of Puerto Morelos.

All-inclusive packages for returning Closer to the Sun guests can be booked during the presale on Wednesday, May 27. Following the pre-sale, there will be a general on sale beginning Thursday, May 28 at 2 p.m. ET at CloserToTheSun.com. An initial $250 per person deposit reserves a room with payment plans to break up additional costs. Just over 400 rooms at Now Sapphire will be available for booking, with prices for the all-inclusive event starting at $1349 per person and oceanview rooms starting at $1699 per person.
