Members of Leftover Salmon, Railroad Earth, Greensky Bluegrass Join Yonder Mountain at Strings & Sol
Last week and over the weekend, Yonder Mountain String Band headlined the Strings & Sol festival in Puerto Morales, Mexico and were joined by members of just about all the other bands in the process.
On Thursday’s opening night, the band welcomed the festival’s resident special guest Larry Keel and Railroad Earth’s Tim Carbone for their set opener “Traffic Jam.” Keel returned later with another RE member, John Skehan, along with Greensky Bluegrass dobro master Anders Beck, for a rendition of “Pass This Way” with an “EMD” interlude.
On Saturday, Keel once again joined Yonder and Leftover Salmon’s Drew Emmitt for a run of “On the Run”>“You’re No Good”>“On the Run,” and later the band brought out Stephen Mougin and Railroad Earth’s Andy Goessling for “Winds of Wyoming” into Talking Heads’ “Girlfriend is Better.”
Yonder also took to Instagram to share a short clip of Friday’s late-night tribute to late bluegrass legend John Hartford, hosted by Leftover Salmon’s Vince Herman. See the post below.
