Jam Cruise 18 Breaks the Happy Meter with its 2020 Lineup
The wait is over. Jam Cruise, the best party on the high seas, just dropped its lineup announcement for 2020 that just about breaks the happy meter. The Claypool Lennon Delirium, Les Claypool’s Bastard Jazz (featuring Stanton Moore, Skerik, and Mike Dillon), moe., Galactic, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and Lettuce will top the extensive bill for Jam Cruise 18, which takes place January 7-12 departing Miami with stops in Ocean Cay, Bahamas, and Costa Maya, Mexico.
Lotus, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Turkuaz, Garage A Trois, Dumpstaphunk, Keller Williams’ Grateful Grass (and solo), The Soul Rebels, Ghost Light, Tank & The Bangas, Cory Wong, Samantha Fish, Nathan Moore, Ghost-Note, Kitchen Dwellers and Circles Around The Sun are also among an insane list of mind-boggling talent performing on Jam Cruise 18.
Solo artists playing next year’s cruise will be Charlie Hunter, Ryan Montbleau, Lebo, Tom Hamilton, Steve Poltz, Holly Bowling, Cris Jacobs and Brock Butler. And special guests will include Walter “Wolfman” Washington, George Porter Jr., Karina Rykman, Casey Benjamin, Alfreda Gerald and Roosevelt Collier.
Back for his third Jam Cruise and fast becoming a perennial favorite, guitarist Marcus King will host the Jam Cruise 18 Super Jam, a hugely popular event held each year on the last night of the cruise. Masters Camp At Sea also returns for Jam Cruise 18 with Luther Dickinson, Eric Krasno, Nikki Glaspie, Garrett Sayers, George Porter, Jr., Charlie Hunter, Ivan Neville, Robert Walter, and Nigel Hall, who will all be leading workshops. Masters Camp At Sea is an add-on program for fans who wish to enhance their own musical skills. See the complete lineup below.
Jam Cruise returns to the palatial MSC Divina with plenty of space for Jam Cruisers to roam, dance, play and party. Known for some of the most historic collaborations in the music world, Jam Cruise will feature music going on practically around the clock all over the ship.
Jam Cruisers better don a good pair of walking shoes and eat their Wheaties for trips between the main stage on the Pool Deck, the expansive Pantheon Theater, the Jam Room (where who knows who will be jamming sometimes till sun-up), the intimate Jazz Lounge (where magical sit-ins happen), the sparkling Atrium (where intimate piano sets and acoustic performances take place), and The Spot (an impromptu gathering place on the outside decks where everyone is welcome to bring an instrument and play).
As if the music weren’t enough to wear out the most energetic fan, there will be costume theme nights, a poker tournament, Chefs At Sea, craft beer tastings, autograph signings, games hosted by artists, shore excursions, yoga and more. Cruisers can also sign up for Positive Legacy, a nonprofit where participants can give back with a day of service in local communities near the ship’s ports of call.
Those who pre-booked for Jam Cruise 18 can select their cabins starting May 9. If any cabins are left, they will go on sale to the general public on May 9 at 12 p.m. EST. For more information on how to book, go to Jamcruise.com or click on the links below.
