Positive Legacy, Cloud 9 Adventures non-profit arm, did a variety of impactful outreach projects in the month of January. On a Jam Cruise 9 port stop in Roatan, 3 pallets of school supplies, vitamins, toothbrushes, books and other supplies (along with a few laptop computers) were donated to Sol International to benefit local children.
Another port stop took us to Costa Maya, where Positive Legacy continued work on a project that began on Jam Cruise 7 in 2009 when PL provided financial support for a KM55 Kinder School to build new walls & a new roof. Just two years later, the school has grown from 20 to 70! They were in desperate need of a modern bathroom with running water & septic, and a donation from Positive Legacy this January fulfilled that wish.
In other news, a donation drive at Mayan Holidaze January 20-24, 2011 resulted in the collection of 5 boxes of school supplies, 2 laptop computers with wireless cards installed, 1 box of first-aid supplies & walking canes, 80 toothbrushes and toothpaste. Positive Legacy worked in conjunction with the DIF of Puerto Morelos, in Riviera Maya Mexico where the event took place.
Many thanks to all of the Artists, guests, and locals who helped make a difference in the lives of others in all of the places Cloud 9 visited in January!
